Who we are
Welcome to Freilaw!
The purpose of our student-run law journal is to promote the idea of the holistic and open-minded law student, while enlivening the established and academically rich University of Freiburg’s Faculty of Law. We aim to provoke thoughts beyond compulsory subject material, and to stimulate interest in new legal issues and fields of law; thereby supporting a critical socio-politically engaged individual. In addition, we offer resources on practical matters such as exam preparation or specialization.
Our magazine emphasizes foreign, international and European Law.
THE IDEA. Our journal is modeled after the familiar American law review. We seek out student contributions that are conducive to Germany’s legal discourse.
NETWORKING. Freilaw’s emphasis on student work fosters legal dialogue among students and faculty of the University of Freiburg. Moreover we seek to reach out beyond campus through our collaborative partners and partnerships with fellow German law journals.
WE LIVE ONLINE. This journal is readily available free of charge to everyone on campus and around the world.
Freilaw is a participatory endeavor. We hope you enjoy these pages and invite you to join in on the discussion and contribute to this journal.
